Water Damage Restoration Project in Chantilly, VA

Royal Restoration was called on to assist with an extensive fire/water loss at Pinnacle Academy; which is a private high school for the arts and is located in Chantilly, Virginia.

The board member of the school reported that the sprinkler system activated itself upon a small fire that started in the kitchen area and it activated the sprinkler system. This caused over 4 hours of water sprinkling which eventually extinguished the fire. The result was fire damage and heavy water flood in total of 10 rooms on 2 different floors. This required immediate water extraction to prevent damage from mold and microbial growth along with further migration. This also required clean-up of ashes and debris caused by the fire. Royal Restoration was called for duty.

Upon arrival, Royal Restoration’s IICRC Certified project estimators performed a thorough water and moisture assessment. With the inspection, each affected room was carefully evaluated. Dimensions, building materials, moisture readings and relative humidity was all documented with detail. Royal Restoration’s initial findings indicated that approximately 10,000 sq. ft. of the kitchen and conference room was damaged by fire and 40,000 sq. ft of space sustained water damage. Saturated areas included numerous classrooms and hallways along with an electrical room, utility room, and main auditorium.

The construction team of Royal Restoration replaced and reconstructed the drywall, ceiling tiles, baseboards, base coves, carpet flooring and laminated flooring. Lastly, the walls were painted in effected areas; which in return, brought the school back to its pre-loss condition.
